A smashing welcome to Alex Justino on Steyoyoke Black; a man who doesn’t mess around, Alex Justino’s EP ‘Antilophia‘ makes a massive statement on first listen. A two-track original EP, ‘Antilophia’ includes a title track, as well as ‘Mergus’. The two compliment and contrast each other in starkingly extraordinary manners.
‘Antilophia‘ is an attention grabber, featuring a simple bassline accompanied with an absolutely breath-taking kick, drums, and synthetic sounds. An aural teaser and a mind melting combination accompanied by simple melodies make this track a masterpiece on its own.
‘Mergus‘, in contrast to it’s sibling ‘Antilophia’, sets the mood with a sexy, mysterious build and a play on chord progression. Alex Justino causes his climatic build to come to an end with an explosion of sound, melodies, and aural combinations, all brought together through an intelligent take on arrangement.
Alex Justino has made his presence known with his heart-stopping, haunting, beautifully ethereal EP titled ‘Antilophia’. A first, and hopefully not a last, for Alex Justino.
